The Ministry of Transport and Communications initiates the Road Inspection Plan for the upcoming festive season in the first week of December with the intention of lowering traffic accidents.

The National Road number 4 (EN4) to Ressano Garcia and the National Road number 1 (EN1) in the province of  were some of the National Roads that a multi-sectoral brigade led by the deputy minister of Transport and Communications, Hamilton Alison, went up this Saturday for the survey of details to enrich the plan.

To reduce traffic on the two highways, alternate routes must be opened, and road signs must be improved.

According to INAM statistics, the province of Niassa  will experience normal rainfall from October to December, with a tendency toward below average rainfall, particularly in the northern region, and normal rainfall with an above normal trend from January to April 2023.

Tomás Inácio, the representative of the National Institute of Meteorology in Niassa, urges to the peasants to base their planting decisions on information from the sector in order to prevent seed deterioration in the  field.


Bad weather predicted for Maputo,Gaza, and Inhambane.

In the provinces of Maputo, Gaza, and Inhambane, the National Institute of Meteorology (INAM) forecasts the occurrence of moderate to heavy rains, accompanied by thunderstorms and winds with local gusts, commencing on Saturday.

The districts of Matutne, Namaacha, Boane, Moamba, Magude, and the cities of Maputo and Matola may be particularly affected in the Maputo province by this phenomena.

The districts of Massingir, Mabalane, Xigubo, and Chicualacuala in Gaza province would be most hit by the torrential downpours.

In Inhambane, the districts of Massinga, Vilankulo, and Funhalouro are expected to see bad weather.

Nyusi embarks on four-day visit to the United Arab Emirates

The Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) intelligence unit has been tasked by the Interior Ministry (MININT) to seek to halt the spread of terrorist acts to other regions of the nation.

Victor Canhemba, the permanent secretary of MININT, made the statement on Friday at the outset of the 23rd PRM Council in Cabo Delgado's Palma district headquarters.

Sofala:Close to a million people could be affected by floods.

Since this past Friday, inspections of an educative nature in the fields such as business, industry, tourism, and education have been carried out by the National Inspection of Economic Activities (INAE) in the city of Maputo.

The INAE envoy gave a press conference in the city of Maputo where the announcement was made.

According to Gabriel Estevo Chongo, the inspection campaign is a component of carrying out the initiatives included in the President of the Republic's Economic Acceleration Package.

17 indicted for armed bank robberry in Quelimane .

The indictment against 17 suspects, who are allegedly involved in the robbery of Banco Comercial de Investimentos(BCI), in Quelimane and the seizure of more than 134 million meticais, was filed to the Zambézia Judicial Court this month by the Provincial Prosecutor's Office.

Part of the suspects are said to be  employees of BCI bank itself, according to a statement from the Zambézia Provincial Attorney's Office that was given to the media in Quelimane.

Four of the 17 defendants are being held in preventive detention. All of the defendants have been charged with bribery, aggravated robbery, criminal association, and possession of a prohibited weapon.

The Zambézia Provincial Prosecutor's Office, on the other hand, launched a separate investigation in an effort to bring additional persons who may have been engaged in the heist to justice.

The theft from the Banco Comercial e Investimentos, BCI, central treasury in Quelimane, occured during broad daylight on July 29 last year.

Mozambique -Rwanda : Visas abolished

Regular passport holders no longer need a visa to enter Mozambique or Rwanda.

World Bank to provide USD 380 million for the renovation of the Port of Nacala and infrastructure linking Mozambique and Malawi

In order to encourage industrial development in Malawi and Mozambique, the World Bank will shortly make US$380 million available for infrastructure development at the Port of Nacala and other key locations.

By using the port of Nacala as the transportation hub, the fund will be used to streamline the logistics of moving agricultural products between the two nations' marketplaces and the production areas.

Mateus Magala, the Minister of Transport and Communications, announced the information on Tuesday in Nacala, claiming that the investment aims to support industrialization for the two nations' sustainable and contemporary development.
