COVID-19 claims two more lives in M

As of October 25 Mozambique has had two deaths from COVID-19, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health,  two male  Mozambican nationalities  aged between 76 and 46 years.

Regarding the number of new infections, 30 individuals tested positive for COVID-19, of which 23 are of Mozambican nationality, one foreigner and six of nationalities yet to be verified.

MISAU data also indicate that the city of Maputo led the list with 17 cases, corresponding to 56.7%, followed by Tete province with eight cases, equivalent to 26.7% and five cases were diagnosed in the provinces of Inhambane, Sofala , Manica, Nampula and Niassa, corresponding to 3.3% per province.

The positivity rate,  is 2.74%, while the accumulated positivity rate is 12.91%.

Mozambique has, cumulatively, 70,636 positive cases registered, of which 70,320 are locally transmitted and 316 are from abroad.

From Monday to Tuesday, the country recorded 17 fully recovered instances of COVID-19, bringing the cumulative to 69,117.

During the same period, there was a new admission and a hospital discharge.

 In the country, so far, there is a cumulative of 3,420 hospitalized patients, of which 16 are currently in COVID-19 inpatient centers and other hospital units.

Thus, there are currently 682 known active cases of COVID-19 in Mozambique.

Mozambique: 8 new cases of COVID-19 reported

According to a document we received from the Ministry of Health, 8 more positive cases have been reported in the nation during the past 24 hours out of a total of 338 suspected samples that have been analyzed.

The city of Maputo registered the most cases throughout the analysis period, with 4 cases.

The nation has not noted any instances of COVID-19 recovery or hospital discharges in the previous 24 hours. In Gaza province, there was only one new incarceration, nevertheless.

There are now 76 active cases in the nation, and 2,224 individuals have died as a result of this illness in Mozambique overall. 

Covid-19 :So far More than 3 million adolescents and young vaccinated.

More than three million adolescents and young people in the country have already been covered by the campaign to administer the first dose of the vaccine against the new coronavirus strain.

Director of the Extended Vaccination Program at the Ministry of Health released Thursday data pertaining to the same.

Leonildo Nhampossa said there was a strong adherence of the target group to the vaccination process against covid-19.

The nationwide first dose vaccination campaign for adolescents and young people against COVID-19 is expected to end  this coming week . (RM)

Niassa. Health Sector wants massive involvement of young people in vaccination against covid-19

The Health sector in Niassa reiterates the appeal to parents and/or guardians to mobilize young people to take the vaccine against covid-19.

The appeal was reiterated this Friday at the official launch of the vaccination campaign against covid-19, an act that took place at Eduardo Mondlane Secondary School, in the provincial capital, Lichinga.

In this campaign, the province of Niassa hopes to immunize more than 300 thousand young people from 12 to 17 years of age.

The director of the Provincial Health Services, in Niassa, José Manuel, said that with this measure the aim is to eliminate the serious forms of contamination of the viral pandemic, with particular emphasis on this target group. (RM)

COVID19 Vaccination reaches more than four thousand teenagers



It is estimated that 4.8 million adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17 can take the vaccine against Covid-19, during the immunization campaign that has been running since yesterday across the country.

Leonildo Nhapossa, director of the Expanded Vaccination Program (PAV) at the Ministry of Health (MISAU), said that the second dose of the vaccine should be administered four weeks after the first.

Vaccination, is  being administered in secondary, technical-professional and primary schools, as this is where the target group is.

Immunization will also be administered in health units and communities, through duly identified MISAU mobile brigades, since there are adolescents living in remote areas.
