Situated in Bilene less tha not far from the water. This small
town, known as San Martino
in the days of colonial Mozambique, is situated on a hill overlooking the
expansive waters of the
Uembje Lagoon. It is a
gigantic body of about 8 km
wide and 27 km long,
plummeting down to depths of more than 45 meters, but shallow
enough around the shores
which ok and perfect for kids. Even though the white s
and crystal clear lagoon make
you feel as if you are in
Greece, this is prime Africa with beautiful
rolling sand dunes, lush
vegetation and just a boat ride away, the powerful
waves of the Indian Ocean. There are 36 rooms in total 3
rooms have 1 double beds
and 1 bunk bed 2 rooms have
2 single beds and the other
29 have 1 double bed
Local Attractions
Large numbers of water birds
:flamingos gather
here in summer to pluck the
spoils from the shallow
fringes of the saline water.
For the the most part of the year, Bilene is all about sailing,
diving, fishing, swimming
and snorkeling
