Mozambique's inflation rate

For the past eight months of this year, inflation in Mozambique was at 1.23 percent. Clothing, footwear, food and non-alcoholic beverages, furniture and home decoration spearheaded the trend for the period cited, contributing 0.66 percentage points. The numbers were published on Wednesday by Telúrio Banze, of the National Institute of Statistics, during the presentation of the consumer index price. Banze also said that "based on the data collected in three cities, namely Maputo, Beira and Nampula, the August price variation against the previous month was 0.21 percent".
