Mozambican Association of People: Training legislators on disability and human rights concerns

Starting this Friday, the Forum of Mozambican Association of People with Disabilities (FAMOD) will teach MPs of the Assembly of the Republic in disability and rights issues in Maputo.

According to FAMOD's executive coordinator, Clodualdo Castiano, the training stems from the ongoing process of submitting the Draft Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Mozambique to the Assembly of the Republic.

Mozambican Writer Paulina Chiziane awarded an Honorary doctorate

Paulina Chiziane, a writer, has been given an Honorary doctorate  by the Pedagogical University of Maputo (UP Maputo).

According to a statement from this university, the title is given in recognition, appreciation, and reward for the author's work in research, production, literary, cultural, and anthropological publication, as well as other accomplishments geared toward the advancement of academics and civic engagement throughout the nation and the world. 

President of the Republic participates in Soico Television's 20th Anniversary Gala

This Thursday in Maputo, the President of the Republic took part in the Gala celebrating Soico Television's 20th anniversary.

 

Inhambane. For the festive season, Vilankulo is expecting more than 60,000 visitors

During the next festive season, more than 60,000 tourists will travel to the Vilankulo district.

At many resorts in the city and district of Vilankulo, both domestic and foreign tourists have already made reservations.

Visitors from neighboring South Africa, Zimbabwe, Europe, and North America stand out among international visitors.

Yassine Amugy, the president of the Vilankulo Tourism Association, claims that the international exposure provided by the district's hosting of the beach football CAN helped Vilankulo attract more tourists. (RM)

First Massingir Tilapia Festival held in Gaza was successful.

The inaugural tilapia fish festival, which took place on Saturday in Gaza's Massingir neighborhood, far surpassed the hopes of both the organizers and the attendees, who came from all over the nation and abroad.

More than three thousand individuals, including tourists and exhibitors of different agricultural products that support the district's economy, attended the Festival, according to the Massingir administrator's report on the event.

Esmeralda Muthemba claims that in less than an hour, the district sold out of nearly a ton of fresh tilapia fish and unknown quantities of dry fish.

According to the official, the event was successful in terms of planning, attracting attendees and exhibitors from around the world, as well as administrative aspects.

The First Tilapia Festival in Massingir included additional services like identity card registration, NUIT acquisition, and passport application. It also included a musical performance as its finale. (RM

THE RIVER OF BLOOD

Dangerous,killer Monster crocodiles lurk beneath the waters of the Zambezi.

They rule the Zambezi river and they have no mercy.The locals are wary of the nile crocodile and they know that the river is his domain.

In Mozambique official records show that crocodile attacks occur all over Mozambique,but most occur in districts bordering  Lake Cahora Bassa and the River Zambezi.(more than 66 percent of all crocodile attacks).

A hungry crocodile will ferousiously attack a dugout canoe while the fishermen are paddling it  and laying their nets.Most fisherman are never found after a crocodile attack;not even apart of them is found again.Many fisherman are taken by crocodile this way.

Nyakoko,the crocodile and Mvuu the hipopotamus are the devils of the Zambezi river;they are hated,respected and feared by all.

Sometimes on the banks of the river an unwary person is taken by crocodile and dissappears forever.Killer crocodiles are said to be owned by witches who send them to attack people.
