Mozambican Writer Paulina Chiziane awarded an Honorary doctorate

Paulina Chiziane, a writer, has been given an Honorary doctorate  by the Pedagogical University of Maputo (UP Maputo).

According to a statement from this university, the title is given in recognition, appreciation, and reward for the author's work in research, production, literary, cultural, and anthropological publication, as well as other accomplishments geared toward the advancement of academics and civic engagement throughout the nation and the world. 

On 20 October 2021, it was announced that Chiziane had been awarded the 2021 Premio Camões (Camões Prize). This is given to writers from Lusophone countries for the entire body of their work.
