New attack aimed at Afonso Dhlakama.

The Renamo leader Afonso Dhlakama
said today that he came out unharmed
in a new attack in less than two weeks
after the last attack on him in Manica province, central
Mozambique. The attack took place
today at the end of the morning on National Road 6 (EN6) in Zimpinga,
Gondola district, when the
Renamo party convoy (Mozambique National
Resistance) was headed for Nampula,
according to the president of the party,
who spoke at the scene. Dhlakama mentioned that three of his guards
were wounded, but the journalist that went to the scene observed at least
nine dead, including two men in
uniforms of Renamo. At The site also was one
"chapa" (public transport semi-truck) whose driver died, and some of
the passengers too.
