Medical care for albinos not reliable
The Ministry of Health has
no dates to put sunscreen for
people with albinism for sale in
public pharmacies. The
availability of sunscreens in
public pharmacies is an old
claim of albinos in the country.
In private pharmacies,
sunscreen products cost
between 500 and two thousand
meticais, values considered
high by beneficiaries. The lack
of sunscreens can cause skin
cancer due to overexposure to
the sun. "We are already
working with associations of
people with albinism for setting
priorities. If they define as a
priority the availability of
sunscreens in public
pharmacies, but we will comply
with that request, "promised
