THE TRAIN OF SALT AND SUGAR

The history of the civil war will
be immortalized in the film "Train of
Salt and Sugar" by Licinio Azevedo. A
feature film with about 100 minutes is
to be rotated now in Boane. There have
now been seven weeks since the day the filming started.After profiling in
different railway stations of the districts
of Maputo province, this time filming
is taking place within Boane - a perfect
setting to portray the vicissitudes of
war. Over 100 professionals from various countries - Brazil, France,
Portugal, South Africa and Mozambique
- engineers,
producers, actors and extras embody
the history of the armed conflict of 16
years that hit the country and the long train journey made from Mozambique
to Malawi, where women bought
salt and sugar for selling in Mozambique as it was a hard period in
the country.
