African gorvenments unable to stop corruption
Corruption in Africa is rising and governments are unable to contain it,announced last week Transparency International (TI),citing a survey that says that 75 million Africans bribed someone in 2014.
"Most (58%) of African Respondents say that corruption has increasedin the last 12 months,and in 18 of the 28 countries where the large majority of those inquiries were made say governments are failing to combat it'',reads a report issued in Berlin by Transparency International.The document states that about 75 million Africans were involved in corruption last year,noting that bribes are inccreasing,according to the general perception.
The practice is not confined to grand corruption,it is also used by poor people to ensure access to basic services.
