Carlos Jeque,a lawyer and former CEO of the company Airlines of Mozambique had his car blocked in full public,on a highway by unknown individuals in Maputo.
At the time his vehicle was removed forcibly from the highway and then was taken an unknown to a location and Jeque was shot in one of his legs.However,the health of the jurist is relatively stable in hospital.
The motive for this crime are not yet known and the police claim no knowledge of the shooting.
Mr Carlos Jeque has a master's
degree in corporate law.He has served as director of the Internal Audit Department at the Bank of Mozambique.He was also an independent candidate for president in the first multiparty elections in 1994.
The last public position held by Carlos Jeque was as chairman of the Mozambique Airlines(LAM).
