Inhambane. arrest of a citizen in Jangamo for possession of marijuana

A 36-year-old citizen is being held in the Jangamo area of Inhambane on drug trafficking charges.

The suspect, a Maputo resident, was found last week in the area of Cumbana with 5.5 kilograms of cannabis sativa, also known as suruma.

This narcotic was intended for the Massinga neighborhood.

The accused disputes the allegations and claims that a cousin tricked her into carrying the package without disclosing its contents.

Juma Aly Dauto, the director of public relations for the Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) in Inhambane, stated that investigations were ongoing in an effort to identify the true perpetrators.
