Mozambique: CNE is engaged in the material acquisition for Electoral registration

The National Electoral Commission (CNE) is working to gather material for the Electoral Census in preparation for the elections in 2023 and 2024.

These mobile phones and other items must be acquired in China in order to register to vote.

The National Election Commission's president, Dom Carlos Matsinhe, says he does not know when this equipment will arrive in the nation because it is a complicated procedure.

Matsinhe promises that the CNE is coordinating with government officials to ensure that the necessary equipment enters the nation and that the census can begin on time.

"Ordering and manufacturing the necessary equipment takes time, and there's also the issue of logistics. The  difficulties brought about by Covid-19 are known.
