Samora Machel's life and accomplishments are the subject of a symposium held by the Research Institute for the History of the Liberation Struggle.
This Wednesday in Maputo, the Research Institute for the History of the National Liberation Struggle will host a symposium on Samora Machel, the country's first president, and his biography and legacy.
Testimonies from individuals and members of the public who lived or worked with Samora Machel between 1963 in Tanzania and October 19, 1986, the day that Samora Machel lost his life, will be used to commemorate the event, which marks the 36th anniversary of his bodily disappearance.
The day also signifies the culmination of the commemorations of the Institute for Research on the History of the National Liberation Struggle's first anniversary (RM)
