The World Bank provides about 75 million meticais for the construction of a health unit in the Chire district of Cabo Delgado, in Meculane, the administrative post of Katapua. This project will house a center for resettling victims of terrorism who have been forced to flee their homes due to violence.

The Cabo Delgado Governor laid the first stone this weekend for the type II health center, that will provide all services needed with a concentration on the maternity and external care blocks.

During the event, Valige Tauabo stated that the Meculane Health Center's development is a component of the project to recover from the crisis in the north and will help more than 29,000 people.

The Health Center will be welcome news at a time when residents must travel ten to twelve kilometers to get to a medical facility. (RM)
