This Mozambican District is Cashing In on Cashews
The district of Machaze in Manica province anticipates commercializing over 4,000 tons of cashew nuts this year. If this goal is achieved, it will represent a 2,000-ton increase, or 50%, compared to the previous year.
The district administrator, Joana Guinda, stated that the commercialization campaign for this cash crop is progressing well.
Regarding the cashew nut trade in Machaze, our reporting team interviewed buyer Herlod Carlos, who confirmed an increase in the number of sellers during this campaign.
In terms of promoting cashew cultivation, the district of Machaze has already planted 65,600 cashew seedlings out of a planned 100,000.
