Traffic agent run over by car and left for dead in Marracuene, Maputo province.

The Republic of Mozambique (PRM) police are looking for the driver who ran over and abandoned a traffic police officer on Wednesday morning on National Road number one (EN1) in Marracuene district, Maputo province.

The aforementioned driver, who was driving a light vehicle between Manhiça and Maputo City, fled after running over the Traffic Police officer.

As a result of this accident, the victim, who was involved in traffic regulation with other agents, sustained serious injuries and is being treated at the José Macamo General Hospital.

Juarce Martins, spokesman for the Police of the Republic of Mozambique in the Maputo provincial command, explains that the corporation will use electronic devices installed along the highway to track down the fugitive. (RM)
