The National Inspection of Economic Activities (INAE) in Niassa province is on high alert this holiday season, determined to stop businesses from playing dirty.

They're keeping a close eye on things like:

  • Price gouging: No more sky-high prices just because it's Christmas!
  • Dodgy products: Expired food? Unsafe goods? Not on INAE's watch.
  • Hoarding the goodies: No artificial shortages to drive up prices.
  • Safety and hygiene: Businesses need to keep their act together – clean and safe for everyone.
  • Any other tricks: INAE is sniffing out any other sneaky tactics businesses might try to pull.

Zacarias Semente, an INAE inspector in Niassa, says they're not just cracking down – they're also spreading the word.

  • Educating businesses: Letting businesses know the rules and what they can and can't do.
  • Empowering consumers: Encouraging shoppers to report any suspicious activity they spot.

To make sure things run smoothly, INAE has formed five mobile inspection teams that are constantly on the move. They're also working closely with local governments to ensure a fair and safe holiday season for everyone.

This crackdown will continue until January 10th, so businesses better be on their best behavior!
